2 girls die from snakebite

Two schoolgirls died from snakebite at different villages in Monirampur upazila early yesterday. The deceased are Muslima Khatun, 11, daughter of Abdullah of Rajganj village, also a Class VII student at Sundalpur Dakhil Madrasa, and Piya Khatun,14, a Class X student at Helanchi High School and daughter of Sirajul Islam of the village. Locals said venomous snakes bit Muslima and Piya while they were asleep at their respective houses early yesterday. They were rushed to Monirampur Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared them dead.
