12 houses gutted

Twelve houses of Ashrayan (a government housing project for homeless people) were gutted in a fire at Indrapasa in Rajapur of the district on Sunday. The fire originated from an electrical short circuit around 1:00pm. On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after two hours of hectic efforts, said Sheikh Munirul Giash, officer-in-charge of Rajapur Police Station.
