At least 100 jute mill workers fell ill as thousands of workers and their family members of nine state-owned jute mills in Khulna are observing indefinite hunger strike for the third consecutive day today.
“At least 100 workers fell sick. They were sent to different hospitals including Khulna Medical College Hospital,” said Khalilur Rahman, joint secretary of Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) and Non CBA.
Some other workers, who were feeling unwell were given saline, added Khalilur.
