10 workers injured as iron rods collapse on them at Rooppur plant construction site

At least 10 workers were injured as iron rods of a construction site collapsed on them at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna this morning.

A portion iron rods used for concrete work at the site collapsed when the workers of Nikim Atomstroy were working there around 10:30am.

At least 10 workers were injured in the accident, said Ruhul Kuddus, in-charge of the site.

Of them, the condition of one Mamun (30) is stated to be critical, he said adding that the worker was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Other injured workers were given treatment at Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex, he told our Pabna correspondent.
