10 missing in Buriganga trawler capsize

At least 10 people went missing as a trawler carrying them capsized in Buriganga River in Fatullah of Narayanganj after colliding with another vessel tonight.

The trawler carrying around 50 people, mostly sand workers, sank in the river after it collided with a sand-carrying vessel around 8:30 pm, said Abdul Haque, In-charge of Fatullah Fire Service and Civil Station.

At least 10 people remained missing while the rest of them managed to swim ashore, he told our Narayanganj correspondent.

Sub-Inspector Fahed Uddin Raktim of Fatullah Police Station said the drive is going on to rescue the missing people.
