1 killed, 10 hurt in clash

A man was killed and at least 10 others were injured in a clash between two groups of rival villagers in Santhia upazila yesterday over establishing supremacy in the area.

The deceased, Nazir Uddin, 35, was son of Elbaz Pramanik of Doyrampur village.

 Officer in Charge (OC) of Santhia Police Station Asif Mohammad Siddikul Islam said the clash took place between supporters of Enamul Kabir Shashi, president of Dhopadah union unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, and Tazmul Hossain, a member of Dhopadah Union Parishad, around 1:30pm over establishing supremacy in the village.

Nazir was killed and 10 others were injured in the clash.
