Will eat Hilsa to my heart’s fill in Bangladesh: Mamata
“When I come to Bangladesh, I will eat Hilsa and rice to my heart’s fill.”
West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said this to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she missed Saturday’s special dinner spread at India’s Rashtrapati Bhaban where the Bangladesh premier cooked steamed Hilsa.
In a quirky exchange between the two, Hasina said she will cook for Mamata when she visits Bangladesh, our Kolkata correspondent said quoting the West Bengal's chief minister.
“Then, I said I will also cook for you (Hasina),” she added.
“Hasina di cooks very well,” Mamata quipped while she was talking to journalists yesterday after a dinner held in honour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is on a four-day visit to India.
On Saturday, the Bangladesh premier took the helm of the kitchen at the Rashtrapati Bhaban in New Delhi and prepared steamed Hilsa for Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
Hasina will return home at 7:50pm today.
