6 parliamentary standing committees reconstituted

The Jatiya Sangsad today reconstituted six parliamentary standing committees on different ministries.

Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury on behalf of Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina proposed the reconstitution.

Later, the proposals were adopted by voice votes with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Awami League MP Tanvir Shakil Joy from Sirajganj-1 was made the member of the parliamentary watchdog on Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry while AL MP Mohammad Habib Hasan from Dhaka-18 was made member of the parliamentary standing committee on Textile and Jute Ministry.

AL MP Naimur Rahman of Manikganj-1 became member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Water Resources Ministry while Rumana Ali, an AL lawmaker elected in the reserved seats for women in parliament, was made member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Ministry.

Shabnam Jahan, lawmaker elected in reserved seats for women in parliament, has been made member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare Ministry while another MP from reserved seats Kaniz Fatema Ahmed has been made the member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Woman and Child Affairs Ministry.
