1 killed, 7 injured in Bogra roof collapse

A construction worker was killed and seven others sustained injuries as a roof of an under construction building collapsed in Bogra town this evening.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Momin, 45, while the names of the injured could not be known immediately, our local correspondent reports quoting Bazlur Rashid Titu, an inspector of Bogra Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Several workers were working in the construction site of TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah Community Hospital.

Suddenly, a portion of the roof collapsed on the workers around 6:30pm, the fire service official said adding that many were trapped under debris.

On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and rescued the victims. They are now undergoing treatment at the same hospital, fire service official said.
