Covid-19: 28 die, 1,014 infected in 24 hours

Twenty-eight people have died with Covid-19 infection in 24 hours (till 8am today) across the country.

Among the deceased, 21 were men and seven were women, a press release of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.

The total number of deaths has now reached 7,559 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent, it said.

At least 1,014 more people were infected with coronavirus during this period, raising the total number of infected people to 5,13,510, DGHS said.

A total of 13,254 samples were tested across the country in the period.

In the meantime, at least 1,389 Covid-19 patients have recovered. With this, the total number of recoveries now stands at 4,57,459 and the recovery rate at 89.08 percent.
