Covid-19: 27 die, 1,632 infected, 2,622 recover in 24 hours
Twenty-seven people have died so far in the country from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths has now reached 7,156 and the death rate stands at 1.44 percent.
A total of 1,632 new infections were recorded during this period, taking the total number of people infected to 4,95,841, stated the release.
The current positivity rate is 9.59 percent, while the total positivity rate stands at 16.40 percent.
A total of 17,025 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.
In the meantime, 2,622 Covid-19 patients have recovered, pushing the total number of recoveries to 4,23,845 and the recovery rate at 86.09 percent.
Among the 27 deceased, 23 were men and four were women.
Of the deceased, one was between 31-40 years old, two between 41-50 years old, six within 51-60, and 18 were above 60 years old, added the release.
