Covid-19: 20 die, 1,163 infected, 2,113 recover in 24 hours

Twenty people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 7,398 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 1,163 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of infections to 5,07,265, the press release added.

The current positivity rate is 8.49 percent and the total positivity rate is 16.11 percent.

A total of 13,695 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.

Of the affected, 2,113 Covid-19 patiens have recovered in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 4,48,803 and the recovery rate is 88.47 percent.

Among the 20 deceased, 14 were men and six were women. Of them, one was aged between 11-20 years old, four between 41-50, five between 51-60 and 10 were above 60 years old, added the release.
