Youth dies after roadside live electric wire falls on him

A diploma engineering student died from electrocution when an electric wire fell on him while he was sitting in front of a workshop in the city's Rupnagar yesterday morning.

Rasel Hossain Sujat, 20, a resident of Eastern Housing, was a student of a polytechnic institute in the capital.

The electric wire from a nearby pole tore all of a sudden when he went to his brother Nasir Hossain's workshop near their house, said Md Jobayer, sub-inspector of Rupnagar Police Station.

Rasel suffered burns in most parts of his body, the SI said.

He was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on arrival.
