Worker dies inhaling poisonous gas

A day labourer died after inhaling poisonous gas while cleaning the septic tank of a latrine in Nilphamari municipality area at noon yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Jahidul Islam, 19, son of Azizur Rahman of Fultoli Sutipara village of sador upazila.

According to Nilphamari fire brigade office the septic tank was too old and dangerous and filled with human waste, which created the poisonous gas.

An unnatural death case was lodged with Nilphamari sadar police station in this regard.
