Woman dies in hit-and-run in capital

A woman was killed while her husband and two children were injured after a hit-and-run pickup van driver hit the auto-rickshaw they were in at Rustampur Beribadh in the capital's Mirpur Beribandh area yesterday evening.

The body of Fariha Hadi Nupur, 40, was sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue. Abul Kashem, 48, Mobinul Islam, 10, and Umme Noor, 6, are receiving treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (SSMCS).

Nupur's condition at first deteriorated at SSMCS and she was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 8:30pm.
