US congressman happy over normalcy’s return

Republican Congressman Steve Chabot during a meeting with Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Tuesday expressed happiness over the return of normalcy and the fact that the city corporation elections were being held.

During the meeting at his office in Capitol Hill, the chairman of the subcommittee on small business also praised the current social and economic development along with women's growing empowerment, says a message from the Bangladesh embassy in Washington DC.

Shirin went to Washington DC to attend the two-day Global Parliamentary Conference 2015 on April 12-13 at the World Bank Headquarters. Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA Mohammad Ziauddin accompanied her.
