Two die in road crashes

Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Manikganj and Moulvibazar yesterday and on Sunday.

In Manikganj, a speeding truck ran a retired policeman over on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Nayadingin in the district's Saturia upazila yesterday morning, leaving him dead on the spot.

The deceased was Latif Hossain Khan, 60, son of Adalat Khan of the upazila's Dhankora village, said AKM Mizanul Haque, officer-in-charge of Golora Highway Police Station.

Police seized the vehicle and detained its driver.

In Moulvibazar, a Saudi expatriate was injured as a CNG run auto-rickshaw carrying him collided with another at Dhamaichhara in the district's Rajnagar upazila on Sunday; reports UNB.

Injured Kutub Uddin, 45, a resident of Mallickpur village of Fenchuganj upazila in Sylhet, later died at Sylhet Ibn Sina Medical College Hospital.
