Twelve shanties gutted in capital

A fire gutted 12 shanties of railway colony in the capital's Tejgaon area yesterday.

The fire originated around 5:58pm from an earthen stove in a shanty.

Fire fighters doused the blaze around 7:30pm, Inspector Atiqul Alam Chowdhury of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters told The Daily Star, adding that no casualties were reported in this connection.
