TV reporter sent to jail for 'torturing wife'

A Dhaka court yesterday sent senior reporter of ATN News Atiqur Rahman Khan to jail in a case filed for torturing his wife.

Atiqur's wife Farzana Akter Tushi filed the case with Ramna Polcie Station on Friday, accusing him of physically assaulting her for dowry since they had gotten married in September 2013. Police arrested Atiqur in Ramna area the same day. They said Tushi claimed that Atiqur already realised Tk 2.5 lakh as dowry and had been assaulting her demanding Tk 50,000 more.
