'Thief' killed in mob beating in port city

An alleged thief was killed in a mob beating in Dakkhin Rajanagar area of Rangunia upazila in Chittagong yesterday.

The deceased was Jahir, 30. Jahir was caught red handed while he went to a house to conduct theft around 12:30am. Later, locals gave him a good beating, said Officer-in-Charge of Rangunia Police Station Humyun Kabir. He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he died.
