Seven more magistrate courts formed to hear bail petitions virtually
The court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate today formed seven more magistrate courts which will function digitally.
The development came as numbers of bail petitions has been increasing.
The court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate AM Zulfiker Hayat on May 10 formed four virtual courts which have been conducting case proceedings digitally through audio and video conferences.
The seven magistrates are: Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan, Atiqul Islam, Abu Sayeed, Mainul Islam, Ashek Imam, Baki Billah and Dhiman Chandra Mondol.
A total of 125 accused were granted bail from the four virtual courts till yesterday.
These courts of Dhaka metropolitan magistrates will only hear petitions in cases filed with 50 police stations in the city.
