Savar road crashes kill two RMG workers
Two female RMG workers were killed in separate road accidents in Ashulia, outside the capital, yesterday.
Ful Banu, 25, a worker of Palmal Group, was killed when a minibus ran her over while she was crossing Dhaka-Tangail highway at Zamgora. She hailed from Tangail.
Following the incident, agitated workers blocked the highway for two hours and torched three minibuses. They also vandalised five other vehicles. Police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. Later, additional police had been deployed to avoid any untoward situation.
Meanwhile, within 11 hours another worker -- Momtaz Begum, 26, of Bando Design Ltd -- was killed when a truck ran her over on the highway in Gorat Sarker market area.
