'Robber' beaten dead in N'ganj

A suspected robber was beaten to death by a mob yesterday in Narayanganj.
According to police and locals, the incident took place on Araihazar-Narshingdi road near Bagha Bridge around 1:00am when about eight persons were allegedly trying to rob a motorcycle rider at gun point.
As he screamed, locals rushed to the spot and caught one of the robbers, and beat him up.
The injured robber was rushed to a hospital where attending doctors declared him dead, said Araihazar police, adding that his identity could not be ascertained.
Filling of a case in this regard is underway.
