Road crashes kill six

Six people were killed and two others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday and on Tuesday.

In Bogra, four people were killed and another was injured when a bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying them on Bogra-Dhaka highway in Ghoga Battola area of Sherpur upazila on Tuesday night.

The dead are auto-rickshaw driver Farid Uddin, 35, of Chandipur village, Firoz Mia, 20, Zahurul Islam, 25, of Aminpur village and Habibur Rahman, 45, of Nizam Bogra village.

In Nilphamari, truck driver Uzzol Mia, 45, of Panchagarh was killed as his vehicle collided head-on with another truck at Dharoniganj Bazar point yesterday. In Bagerhat, Nasir Sheikh, 40, was killed and his co-rider injured as his motorcycle hit a brick pile after he lost his control over the vehicle in Bagerhat's Daratana Toll Plaza area yesterday.
