Road crashes kill 9, injure 7
Nine people were killed and seven others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday and on Saturday.
In Sylhet, three people were killed when a truck hit an auto-rickshaw and plough through a roadside stall as the driver lost control over the vehicle at Pirerbazar on Sylhet-Tamabil road on Saturday night.
The deceased were Rafiq Miah, 35, Babul Miah Madan, 30, and an unidentified man of Pirer Bazar area.
In Noakhali, Akram Hossain, 25, of Kadir Hanif Union was killed and four others were injured when a bus collided-head on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at BRTC Depot in Sonapur yesterday.
Meanwhile, Md Sajib 35, of Kadir Hanif Union was killed when a bus rammed his motorcycle at Thakkar of the upazila yesterday.
In Jamalpur Sadar, two sisters were killed and three people injured when a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on on Jamalpur-Islampur road in Jhinai Bridge yesterday.
The deceased were Hawa Begum, 50, and Pankha Begum, 40, of the district.
In Chittagong, two people were killed as a bus hit the auto-rickshaw carrying them on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar Highway in Chandanaish upazila yesterday.
The deceased were Md Mohiuddin, 22, and Sajjad Hossain, 40, of the upazila.
