Road crashes kill 6, injure 1

Six people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday and on Saturday.

In Nilphamari, two people were killed as a motorcycle collided head-on with a tractor on Nilphamari-Saidpur road at Kachari on Saturday.

The deceased were Nuronnabi of Tepur Danga village and Aduri Rani of Gobindopur village.

In Tangail, two youths were killed when a covered-van hit their motorcycle on Dhaka-Tangail highway at Karatipara Bypass in Basail upazila yesterday.

The deceased -- Galib Hossain, 24, of Gazipur and Yunus Miah, 25, of Tangail -- were cousins.

In Chittagong, Sabuj Majumder, 25, of Uttar Banshbaria area was killed and his co-rider injured as their motorcycle collided head-on with a truck on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Fakirhat area of Sitakunad upazila on Saturday.

Meanwhile, an unidentified youth was killed after being hit by a microbus near Karnaphuli 3rd Bridge in Chittagong city yesterday.
