Road crashes kill 5

Five people, including two of a family, were killed and nine others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday and on Sunday.

In Bagerhat, a man and his father were killed and three others injured when his motorcycle collided head-on with a rickshaw-van on Bagerhat-Morelganj road in Bichat area of Kachua upazila yesterday.

The dead is Humayun Kabir, 44, of Narendrapur village and his father Shekh Anwar Hosen, 82.

Meanwhile, Shahidul Islam Molla, 45, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday after he was injured on Saturday when he fell on the road Morelganj-Sharonkhola roadwith his motorcycle in Jalil Bridge area of Sarankhola.

In Mymensingh Sadar, an unidentified man was killed and two others were injured when a bus rammed a rickshaw-van carrying them in Shikarikanda area on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway yesterday.

In Pabna, Nayeb Ali, 45, of Muladuli village was killed and four people were injured as a truck hit a three-wheeler carrying them in Kalikapur area of Ishwardi upazila on Sunday noon.
