Road crashes kill 5

Five people were killed and two others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday and on Sunday.

In Bagerhat, two people were killed and two others injured when a bus hit a pick-up van and fell into a roadside ditch on Bagerhat-Mawa Highway in Telapukur area of Fakirhat upazila on Sunday night. The deceased were Dilip Pal, 45, of Mansha Village and Laxman Pal, 50, of Khulna.

In Bogra Sadar, Zaminur Rahman Sardar, 29, of Shakharia village was killed as a truck ran him over on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Matidali area yesterday. Meanwhile, just an hour apart Montu Mia, 28, of Kalibala village  was  killed at the spot after being run over by another truck.

In Chapainawabganj, Kochi Begum, 35, of Naya Lavanga village was killed truck hit a three-wheeler on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid Land Port Highway in Ranihati Bazar area of Shibganj upazila yesterday.
