Road crash takes another kid's life

A nine-year old girl was killed when a bus of Unique Paribahan hit her while she was crossing the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Paniumda in Habiganj yesterday.

The deceased was Poli Akter, daughter of Kamal Miah of Paniumda in the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station Majibur Rahman said they were trying to catch the bus and its driver.

In Dinajpur, Sajib Chandra Roy, 14, of Shukdevpur village was killed and two of his friends were injured when a motorcycle fell into a ditch beside Biral-Kaliaganj road in Loliya village of Biral upazila yesterday.

The injured Gouranga Chandra Roy, 14, who was driving the motorcycle, lost control over the vehicle. Another injured was Proshanta Chandra Roy, 14.

In Jhenidah, vehicular movement on Jhenidah-Kushtia highway came to a halt for four hours as a truck turned turtle after it collided head-on with another truck on the highway in Dudsar village under Shailakupa upazila yesterday morning.
