Road accidents kill 2, injure 27

Two persons, including a boy, were killed and 27 others injured in road accidents in Chittagong and Natore yesterday.

In Chittagong, a speeding bus hit a CNG-run auto- tempo on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in the city's Third Karnaphuli Bridge area, leaving the latter's three passengers critically injured.

The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where on-duty doctors declared Syed Hossain, 25, dead, said CMCH police outpost.

The other two victims could not be identified immediately.

Meanwhile, in another incident on the same day, 25 passengers were injured when two buses collided with each other in the city's Karnaphuli area.

The injured were admitted to CMCH.

In Natore, a boy named Faruk Hossain, 13, died instantly as a truck hit him from behind in Ekdala area of the district's Sadar upazila; adds our Natore correspondent.

Deceased Faruk was son of Oawud Hossain of Ekdala village.
