Prisoner flees DMCH
A prisoner, who had been receiving treatment in Dhaka Medical College Hospital for over a month, escaped from there yesterday.
Rezaul Karim was jailed for 11 years for breaching discipline of Bangladesh Air Force and sacked from the force, said sources in Dhaka Central Jail.
He was shifted to the hospital on February 9 this year due to back pain and kidney diseases.
Rezaul fled from ward-701 dodging two prison guards between 1:00pm and 2:00pm, said Jailer Neasar Alam.
The two guards -- Zafor Alam and Khitish Chandra Mallik -- were suspended, he said, adding that they would face more departmental actions.
The official said they filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station and had provided all information about him to the law enforcers.
