Prime accused confesses to killing of BCL leader Badal

Golam Rasul Saddam, the prime accused in Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Mehedi Hasan Badal killing case, confessed to the crime before a Chittagong court yesterday, said Kazi Muttaki Ibnu Minan, additional deputy commissioner (prosecution).

Detectives arrested Saddam in Companiganj of Noakhali early yesterday.

Badal, former BCL president of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute unit, and son of Golam Mostafa of Shershah Colony in the city, was shot dead by his rivals near his house in Shershah area on September 1, 2015.

Later, a case was filed accusing 22 persons with Bayezed Police Station.
