Pedestrian dies being crushed between buses in capital
A pedestrian was killed after being sandwiched between two buses in the capital's Azimpur yesterday afternoon.
Mohammad Russell, 24, of Savar was standing in front of a parked bus when another bus driver of Falgun Paribahan tried to speedily pass it and Russell got sandwiched between the two vehicles. Seriously injured Russell was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Kabir Hasan, who was with Russel, said they came from Savar in search of a job as a cook at the Police headquarters mess. They stood there to board a Savar bound bus for Savar. Police said they seized the bus of Falgun Paribahan but the driver fled.
