One dies in Motijheel fire

A doctor died during a fire at a multistory building at Dilkusha in the capital's Motijheel yesterday.

SM Shahnawaz Bin Tabib -- a doctor of Islami Bank Specialised and General Hospital -- went to the 10-storey Haji Mansion on banking purpose.

When the fire started at some electric wires near the building, Shahnawaz, being panicked, climbed to the top floor with others and fell sick, said fire service officials.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital immediately where doctors declared him dead.

However, the reason of his death could not be known immediately.
