Nizam made acting RCC mayor

Nizam ul Azim, councillor of Ward No-21, was given the post of acting mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation on Tuesday following an order from the local government ministry.

Azim took over the mayor's office from RCC Chief Executive Officer Azahar Ali who told The Daily Star that they received the order signed by Deputy Secretary Soroj Kumar Nath on Monday.

The order was sent following the president's directives, he added.

On May 7, the ministry suspended Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul from the post of RCC mayor considering that he was charge sheeted in three criminal cases including a murder occurred during BNP sponsored blockade.
