NBR to boost collection of tax at source

Aiming to increase revenue earnings from tax at source, also known as tax deducted at source (TDS), the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to include more sectors under its jurisdiction with the existing 58.

The NBR has also decided to create five dedicated tax zones to oversee the TDS to increase revenue collection through proper monitoring, as there is no dedicated tax zone for supervising TDS collection.

Of the total numbers, four will be set up in the capital while the remaining one in Chittagong.
