Miscreants posing as passengers torch bus in Jatrabari

A bus was set on fire in Dhaka's Jatrabari area this evening, hours before the countrywide hartal called by Hefajat-e-Islam tomorrow.

A Raida Paribahan bus was set on fire around 7:45pm near Ideal School and College. Two firefighting units doused it around 8:30pm, said Jahirul Islam, senior station officer of Postogola Fire Station.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.

However, Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station, said miscreants boarded  the bus and set it on fire.

Several seats were gutted down, he added.
