Man hurt in gas explosion dies at DMCH
One of the three victims, who suffered severe burns in an explosion in their household gas pipeline on Thursday night in the capital's Wari, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early yesterday.
Alamgir Hossain, 50, was a landlord. His wife Hosne Ara, 45, with 40 percent burns and daughter Shamrin Alam, 20, with 30 percent burns are still in danger, said DMCH doctors.
Gas leaked from what appeared to be a faulty pipeline accumulated inside the house and exploded the moment when Hosne Ara lighted a matchstick to fire up the gas stove, said police.
A family member said all openings were closed in the house to prevent mosquitoes from entering.
