Man gets life-term for raping girl

A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced a man to life-term imprisonment for raping a two-and-a-half-year old girl in 2011.

The convict -- Khurshid Alam, 25, of Shershah in city's Bayezid area -- is now in jail. The court also fined him Tk 20,000, said public prosecutor MA Naser.

The PP said on May 6 in 2011, Khurshid -- a neighbour of the girl -- raped the girl taking her into his house.

Khurshid was arrested on that day after the girl's father lodged a case in this connection.
