Man fatally run over by bus

A man was killed as he was run over by a bus of Anabil Paribahan on the Pragati Sharani road in the capital's Uttar Badda yesterday around 3:30pm.

The deceased was identified as Ronny, 30, a day labourer.

Following the incident, locals vandalised the bus and set fire to it, blocking the road for about half an hour, said Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station.

They also barred two units of firefighters from dousing the fire, said Fire Service men.
