Legal notice served on EC for army in polls

A legal notice has been served to the Election Commission seeking steps for deploying army to create a level-playing field for the upcoming municipality polls.

SM Zulfiqure Ali Junu yesterday sent the notice urging EC to inform him by 72 hours about the deployment of army personnel and legal action against the ruling party lawmakers for violating the electoral code of conduct.

He said if the EC does not respond to the notice he will file a writ petition.
