Illegal cell phones seized at airport

Customs officials yesterday seized 65 branded cell phones and a huge number of memory cards, worth around Tk 5.5 crore, at the capital's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, which were imported through false declarations. 
The items were couriered in five cartons from Hong Kong by a Thai Airways flight on Tuesday, but the declaration papers described the goods as computer parts worth less than Tk 10,000, said officials.
