Habiganj road crash kills 3 of a family, injures 2

Five people, including three of a family, were killed and two others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday.

In Habiganj, three members of a family were killed and two others injured when a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying them on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Debpara area of Nabiganj upazila.

The deceased were Sheikh Sufian, 25, his sister-in-law Sufina Begum and Sufian's aunt Mokhlush Bibi, 55, of Kandigaon village.

Following the incident, locals blocked the highway for half an hour, police said.

In Dinajpur, Samiur Rahman, 32, of Sudhirhat village was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle on Dinajpur-Parbatipur road in Monmathapur village in Parbatipur upazila.

In Pirojpur, Rupali Rani, 42, of Kalaipur village in Bagerhat was killed when a bus ran her over on Mathbaria-Pathorghata road in Kabutorkhali village of Mathbaria upazila.
