Fugitive murderer arrested at Ctg

A convicted killer, who had been absconding since 2010, was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion soon after he landed at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong city yesterday.

Anwar Ashraf Chowdhury, 37, of Chittagong city, went into hiding after being freed on bail in 2010. In 2014, Ashraf, former officer of Golden Life Insurance Fatikchhari Branch, was sentenced to death for stabbing his senior officer Nur Khalek Master to death on April 2, 2004 because the latter fired him over corruption charges.

Ashraf returned to Dhaaka from Qatar a few days ago, said Rab officials.
