Four die in road accidents

Four people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in the country yesterday.

Our Chittagong correspondent reports, Sirajul Islam, 44, of Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila, an employee at Mirsarai Fire Station, died after a truck hit him while he was crossing the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mirsarai municipality.

Our Kushtia correspondent reports, two persons were killed and another was injured when a truck hit their motorcycle at Nolkula village in Kushtia.

The dead were Abdul Munib, 35, and Jahanara Khatun, 27, residents of Shailkupa upazila of Jhenidah. Injured Lata Khatun is undergoing treatment at Kushtia General Hospital.

Our Daudkandi correspondent adds, Saleha Begum, 55, of Knara village, died after a bus hit her on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at the village in Daudkandi.

Police seized the bus, Matlab Express.
