Fires gut five shops in Ctg, Citycell tower in Sylhet

A fire gutted valuables worth around Tk 1.5 lakh at five tin-shed shops, including grocery, pharmacy and restaurant, in Uttar-Madhyam Halishahar of Chittagong city early yesterday. The fire originated from an electric short circuit in one of the shops, said fire officials. Fire fighters doused the blaze after an hour long effort.

Meanwhile in Sylhet city, a fire damaged a tower of a mobile operator, Citycell, on the roof of an eight-storey building in Jallarpar area. Fire fighters doused the fire after an half an hour long effort. Fire officials estimated the damage at Tk 2.50 lakh.
