DU students hold cartoon exhibit against metro rail route thru' campus

Students of Dhaka University yesterday held a satirical cartoon exhibition at DU demanding shifting of the proposed metro rail route from their campus.

They claimed if the route runs through the campus, it would hamper the academic atmosphere by creating crowds, noise, and insecurity.

The cartoons, mainly painted by the fine arts students, showed the feature of possible problems due to the project.

They also launched a mass signature collection campaign to press the demand, said Samanta Shermeen, a master's student of the sculpture department of DU.

Earlier, the students held different programmes, including a solidarity rally.
