Ctg transport strike called off after leader's rescue

Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation called off its indefinite strike as transport worker leader Nurul Islam was rescued from Mirsarai upazila of Chittagong yesterday, two days after he was kidnapped from the city's Bandartilla area.   

Assistant police super of District Special Branch (DSB) Robiul Islam said a team of Jorarganj Police Station rescued Nurul around 8:15pm.

Some miscreants identifying them as law enforcers picked up Nurul, general secretary of City Human Hauler Workers' Association, on Wednesday night when he was returning home.
