Ctg fire guts shops, warehouses, home

Fire gutted five tin-roofed shops, a house and three warehouses of jhut (scrap fabrics from garment industries) in Roufabad area of Chittagong city early yesterday.

The fire was originated from the electric short circuit in one of the establishments around 5:15am and spread to the others, said Fire Services sources.

Fire fighters doused the fire around 9:15am and estimated the damage at around Tk 8 lakh.
