Cable glitch causes power outage in capital

Residents of many areas in the capital city have been suffering due to power outage since yesterday when a 132KV underground electric cable was damaged during construction work of the Moghbazar-Mouchak flyover in Mouchak.
Workers of Toma Construction damaged the cable in front of Mouchak Market, said a press release of Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC).    
Areas affected include Poribagh, Elephant Road, Karwan Bazar, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Kakrail, Ramna, Azimpur and Dhanmondi.
An official of DPDC said they require two to three days for repairing the cable.
